U.S. Attorney General: Impose Catholic Law to Rule Government. Sunday Law & Death Penalty for “Pest” Control

If any of you have been following the media, you may have noticed that United States attorney general, William Barr has been in the news. If you have been following Bible prophecy, you will understand that the position he holds in the government, the position he holds in the Roman Catholic Church and the statements he has publicly made are not only significant but are an ominous warning of where the United States is headed—a resurgence of religious rule in government, the restriction of liberty of conscience and the infliction of the death penalty for dissenters.

Let us firstly understand what exactly the role and function of the United States attorney general is. The attorney general is the head of the justice department and chief law officer of the federal government. He or she represents the United States in legal matters and gives advice and recommendations to the president and to other heads of executive departments as requested. In exceptionally grave cases or cases of special importance, the attorney general may appear in person before the U.S. Supreme Court to represent the interests of the government. The attorney general is charged with the enforcement of federal laws, providing legal counsel in federal cases, interpreting the laws under which other executive departments function, the supervision of federal penal institutions and the investigation of federal law violations. It is clear that the attorney general is entrusted with weighty responsibilities and wields much power and influence.

With that in mind, consider the well-known fact that attorney general William Barr is a devout Catholic who is extremely outspoken about his religious beliefs. What may not be known by many is that William Barr, who was confirmed in February of 2019 in replacement of Jeff Sessions, is also a member of the Knights of Columbus, and for many years served on the supreme board.1 “A practicing Catholic and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Barr said in his confirmation hearings before the Senate Judiciary Committee that he did not believe his faith would hinder his ability to serve as an effective attorney general.”2 Although Mr. Barr made this assertion, anyone familiar with Roman Catholic societies understands that the primary allegiance of members is pledged to their organization, the Roman Catholic Church, to which every other vow is secondary. “The Roman Catholic Church, with all its ramifications throughout the world, forms one vast organization under the control, and designed to serve the interests, of the papal see. Its millions of communicants, in every country on the globe, are instructed to hold themselves as bound in allegiance to the pope. Whatever their nationality or their government, they are to regard the authority of the church as above all other. Though they may take the oath pledging their loyalty to the state, yet back of this lies the vow of obedience to Rome, absolving them from every pledge inimical to her interests.”3

We mentioned earlier that William Barr is not reticent in openly proclaiming his religious beliefs and his advocacy and support of the union of church and state as well as the government’s enforcement of moral laws. We will here quote directly from William Barr and see what he is prescribing for the United States and the penalties for those who do not adhere to his laws.

U.S. Attorney General, William Barr, echoes Pope: U.S. Constitution a Pest & Defenders of Church-State Separation are Pesky. Popery must Infiltrate Government at All Levels. Sunday Law for “PEST” Control. 5 Sources of Rejoicing.

“Amid calling for greater freedom of religion, Barr also called for religion (his religion) to infiltrate government at all levels. He specifically decried the fact that ‘public agencies — including public schools — are becoming secularized,’ wrote Rampell. ‘Militant secularism, he said, is to blame for the country’s greatest ills, including drug use, mental illness and ‘an increase in senseless violence.’ Given such crises, Barr urged his audience to fight back against ‘so-called ‘progressives’ and others who insist upon respecting America’s pesky, constitutionally mandated separation of church and state.’”4 Of course Mr. Barr was not the originator of the thought that the U.S. Constitution and its defenders are “pesky” or “pestilential;” he was merely repeating a long-held Catholic belief that was enshrined in history by Pope Pius IX in his encyclical letter. “‘The Constitution of the United States guarantees liberty of conscience. Nothing is dearer or more fundamental. Pope Pius IX, in his Encyclical Letter of August 15, 1854, said: `The absurd and erroneous doctrines or ravings in defense of liberty of conscience are a most pestilential error–a pest, of all others, most to be dreaded in a state.’ The same pope, in his Encyclical Letter of December 8, 1864, anathematized `those who assert the liberty of conscience and of religious worship,’ also ‘all such as maintain that the church may not employ force.’”5 No one can sensibly argue that pests are not a nuisance and need not to be exterminated. That is exactly what William Barr has pledged to use his power as U.S. attorney general to do—get rid of the “pesky” constitution which separates church and state, and to exterminate or execute the “pests” who protest the imposition of Roman Catholic law in America.

It must be here noted that not even three months ago William Barr was in the news for reinstating the death penalty of which, again his Roman Catholic faith is cited. “The federal government has not used the death penalty in nearly 20 years, making it hard for Barr to claim that his decision is demanded by law. No one is forcing him to make the change, in other words. It appears to be his specific, individual choice alone…The only moral possibility for the death penalty comes from, as St. John Paul II put it, a situation where it is the only way to ‘defend society.’ But in 1995, the Holy Father noted that ‘such cases are very rare, if not practically non-existent’ given the capacities of most penal systems. Today’s U.S. supermax federal prisons, it hardly needs saying, fall into the ‘practically non-existent’ category.”6 Additionally, the Roman Catholic Church admits that the death penalty is admissible in Catholic doctrine to defend or protect the common good. “As Pope Pius XII said: ‘It is reserved then to the public power to deprive the condemned man of the benefit of life, in expiation of his fault, when already, by his crime, he has dispossessed himself of the right to life.’ Third, the death penalty can sometimes support the common good. St Thomas Aquinas makes this point: ‘Therefore if a man be dangerous and infectious to the community, on account of some sin, it is praiseworthy and advantageous that he be killed in order to safeguard the common good.’”7

It is clear that every decision William Barr makes is in respect to Roman Catholic Law and the infiltration of such at every level of government. Revelation 13:11-17 prophesies the enforcement of Roman Catholic Law, specifically the National Sunday Law, by the government of the United States and the infliction of civil penalties and even death upon those who stand for liberty of conscience and refuse to bow, those called “pests.” Given Barr’s position as attorney general, his devotion to his Roman Catholic faith and his objective to fuse the two, it is not difficult to see just how the Sunday Law can become a reality in our time in the United States. As was prophesied over a century ago, “Roman Catholic principles will be taken under the care and protection of the state.”8 Time is almost finished. Get ready, get ready, get ready!
